I was watching what’s up what’s up in channel 23 some nights ago when I chanced upon a question in a poll they are airing for their viewers and the question goes like this: If there is a newly discovered planet in the solar system, what is the color of my teeth? Huh?
Life is like that… it almost always presents itself as something serious, and while fully engaged in the matter at hand, it startles us with a joke.
Sometimes when we look at something really closely, we run the risk of being closest to it when it erupts. Think: Jack in a box. And your nose is closest to the box.
Not that we should not treat life seriously, I for one is someone who does… in fact this post is primarily for me than for others… but in the light of this discussion, I realized we should always leave room for surprises, for fun, for a twist.
Because whether or not we are ready for it, a surprise is on our way. Our openness to it allows us to either enjoy it or get irritated. Which would you choose?
Which leaves me to remember how, looking back, some really grave and pressing matters of the past seems mundane and even silly from this viewpoint. Life is never an emergency. It is just full of lunacy. So smile!
